Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity to join our existing Outreach Service for Children and Adolescents (OSCA) to lead on the treatment pathway for Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). The post holder would be responsible for managing the implementation of DBT for young people across Buckinghamshire; including supervision of therapists providing intervention, providing treatment; on both a group and individual basis & getting involved in local research projects/audits.

The post holder would also work as part of the OSCA/Crisis service, completing prompt and efficient psychosocial assessments and treatment for children and adolescents who need additional short-term support on top of community or crisis packages by offering an alternative pathway to avoid hospital admission.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, personable, and resourceful individual who is committed to supporting developing services and a multi-disciplinary team of staff. You will need excellent communication and organisational skills, and a keenness to be part of a busy and vibrant department. We welcome applications from RMN's, OT's or Social Workers.

Main duties of the job

  • To provide expert clinical care (directly with patients for a minimum of 80% of role)
  • To adopt a lead role in the provision of DBT to adolescents and their families within Buckinghamshire, establishing and maintaining the DBT programme and ensuring appropriate clinical governance arrangements
  • To provide professional leadership and consultancy
  • To provide education, training and development in their field of expertise to other staff
  • To contribute to practice and service development and evaluation
  • To lead and contribute to audit and research
