The main duties of the post are to provide care for individuals accessing primary care across Aneurin Bevan University Health Board, including those with respiratory conditions.

Main duties of the job

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Health Care Support Worker to join our caring and professional nursing team delivering care to people accessing primary care nursing and respiratory services across Aneurin Bevan University Health board.

We are a friendly team and welcome applications from Health Care Support Worker's who possess excellent communication skills both written and verbal and who are committed to providing high standards of care for patients, their families and carers within the Primary care setting. Ideally the candidate will have excellent computer skills. You will provide care to patients accessing Primary Care nursing and respiratory services, whilst working under the supervision of a team of registered nurses. You will carry out direct care duties under the delegation of a registered nurse e.g. phlebotomy, physiological observations, sample testing, ECG, Spirometry/Feno, Home oxygen post instillation checks(PICS) and Inhaler technique checks.

You need to have a good standard of education, a caring attitude and the ability to be flexible to service needs. Also important is being able to work as part of a dedicated teamand the enthusiasm to learn.

Successful candidates will have completed aDiploma in Health and Social Care Level 3 or equivalent.

The ability to travel between sites is essential.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Recent NHS or primary care experience within the last 12 months is essential.

Experience of working with patients with chronic disease or respiratory conditions would be an advantage.

A proven track record of being reliable and dependable.

A flexible approach to work would be a great advantage.
