Main duties of the job

The purpose of the Keystone Mental Health Team Deputy Manager role is to be part of the leadership team to ensure the effective development and provision of the service. The post holder will work across the 3 City & NE Keystone Mental Health Teams providing clinical leadership, supervision and training.

The role will involve collaboration with service users, carers and partnership agencies, providing training and advice and deputising for the Operational Manager as required.

Clinically the deputy team manager will demonstrate enhanced competence in complex decision making, assessment and the management of needs. The successful candidate is also expected to cover clinical roles, complete triages, assessments and brief interventions as required.

Experience of working in primary care is desirable but applications from those with leadership experience and an interest in service development are welcomed.

The Keystone Mental Health Teams are a Mon-Fri 9-5 service, Planning is currently underway for 2 City Keystone Hubs based in Cowley and Kidlington and the successful candidate will need to be able to work from both bases as required.

Job responsibilities

The Keystone Mental Health Teams have been developed to improve the health and wellbeing of people who experience serious and complex mental health difficulties in the community.

We will be based within the Keystone Menal Health and Wellbeing hubs which will provide a welcoming and non stigmatised public venue working alongside mental health and wellbeing support services from primary care, secondary care and third sector partners.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • Current professional registration: Registered Mental Health Nurse, Occupational Therapist, Social Worker

Desirable

  • leadership experience and/or qualification

Experience

Essential

  • Community experience in mental health services for adults and older age adults with severe / significant mental illness

Desirable

  • Experience of working in primary and secondary mental health services.
  • Previous leadership experieince

Knowledge

Essential

  • Specialist knowledge of person-centred care and its application. Specialist knowledge of psychosocial interventions and their appropriate use Understanding of the mental health needs of adults.

Desirable

  • Specialist knowledge relating to MH needs of young adults age 18-25 and to the needs of those diagnosed with, or with presenting traits of, personality disorder
