Job summary

An opportunity has arisen for a highly organised and motivated individual to train as an Apprentice Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner. The successful candidate will study for a University Professional Certificate in Psychological Practice, as part of the Psychological Wellbeing Practice Level 6 Apprenticeship, which is a cornerstone qualification for working in NHS Talking Therapies services. The training is delivered jointly between Black Country Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (BCHFT), and Staffordshire University.

In this role, the post holder will be required to attend at least 1 day teaching, undertake 1 day of self-directed study, and provide 3 days of clinical practice per week, from our base at the Whiteheath Medical Centre. Teaching will be at University of Staffordshire (Stoke Campus) and will commence in late September 2024. The post holder will be offering assessment and low intensity treatment to patients presenting with common mental health problems such as depression and anxiety. The post holder will receive appropriate support throughout their training journey.

Successful applicants will hold:

  • GCSE English Language and Mathematics at grade C or above (or equivalent).
  • Significant experience of working with people who have suffered with a mental health problem
