If you are looking for an exciting new challenge Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust (LSCFT) which is a Specialist Mental Health and Community NHS Foundation Trust in the North West, is the place for you.

We are currently looking to recruit a Fire Safety Advisor on a permanent basis - various hours up to full time.

The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that Trust sites meet all statutory fire requirements. A key feature of this role will be to ensure that fire safety systems are in place to meet requirements of legislation and that these are supported by suitable policies and procedures linking into Trust Management arrangements. The Fire Safety Advisor will complete Fire Risk Assessments, provide training and provide general support in relation to fire safety.

The Fire Safety Advisor will provide an oversight of the service providers fire safety responsibilities and ensure all their services comply with legislation and good industry practice.

The post holder will be based at Guild Park, Preston but will be expected to carry out projects throughout the Trust.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day management of fire safety throughout Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust across both inpatient and community sites.

You will deputise for the Chief Fire Safety Officer ensuring the Trusts statutory requirements across a large complex organisation are met in line with the application of Health Technical Memorandums (HTM-05 series Firecode), Health Building Notes (HBN series), Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, and the Building Regulations, and their practical implications and application in varied healthcare environments.

You will have extensive knowledge and experience in providing expert advice to managers and staff at all levels of the organisation, including planning comprehensive and structured programmes of fire safety risk assessments, and fire safety drills.

  • Significant in-depth experience gained undertaking complex risk assessments in large and complex multi-site organisation
  • Experience of working in accordance with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 & HTM 05 series of guide documents

Knowledge

  • Knowledge & competent in the use of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel

Skills & Abilities

  • Excellent customer service skills
