Job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic Tier 2 Obs &Gynae Doctor to become part of the team in Stockport.

The main duties of this post are the assessment of patients, ordering and following up investigations, completing documentation and working flexibly within Obstetrics & Gynaecology: There will be on-call duties and you will be required to work flexibly seven days a week. With regards to commitments to O&G, the successful applicant will work as part of a team of midwives/nurses and doctors in a semi-autonomous fashion as befits their experience.

Main duties of the job

The post includes leading ward rounds and emergency theatre lists for acute gynaecology; providing ongoingcare of patients on the Gynaecology and Maternity wards. Managing high risk inductions and births on delivery suite, working effectively as part of the MDT, assessing patients in Maternity Triage, running elective caesarean section lists,assisting in theatres, and working independently in Antenatal and Gynaecology clinics. Participating in regular departmental meetings / teaching and training is essential. This will be a developmental role to support the Consultant workforce by working independently to ensure a robust service provision for our patients and families.

  • MB. ChB. or equivalent
  • Full GMC registration

Clinical Experience

  • 3 years in UK in Obstetrics and Gynaecology with Registrar experience or equivalent

Desirable

  • 2 years at Registrar equivalent in a large DGH
  • Outpatient hysteroscopy
  • Minimal access surgery
