This is a permanent post for a Consultant Colorectal Surgeon with an interest in robotic surgery. The successful applicant will join a forward-thinking Surgery Department with a wide range of sub specialist interest and skills. The post holder will undertake outpatient clinics and elective surgery and participate in the emergency on call rota (currently 1:10).

Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential
- Full and Specialist registration (with a license to practice) with the General Medical Council (GMC), or be eligible for registration within six months of interview.
- Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons or equivalent
Desirable
- Higher degree/qualification.
- MD/MS/Phd
Training & Experience
Essential
- Successful completion of a CCT training programme or equivalent.
- At least 12 months training in Colorectal surgery at a senior specialist registrar level.
- Experience in wide variety of emergency surgery work undertaken in a district general setting.
- Evidence of participation in CME/CPD in the last 12 months.
Desirable
- Fellowship in Robotic Surgery
- Interest in Advanced Laparoscopy and Robotic surgery
Management & Administration
Essential
- Knowledge of the structure of Health Service and conversant with recent initiatives and changes, including Clinical Governance, and Appraisal
Desirable
- Experience in leading innovations / development of pathways
