An exciting opportunity has arisen for an accomplished and highly motivated Patient Services Manager with previous management experience and leadership skills to join our friendly and welcoming team.

The Patient Services Manager will play a crucial role in providing a high-quality patient experience and support our busy reception team.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a Patient Services Manager who will be responsible for providing outstanding patient experience.

They will provide leadership and direction to the reception team and be the point of contact for patients on a day to day basis. They will work closely with the GP Partners and Management team to deliver the overall practice priorities whilst providing a high standard of care to patients. The candidate will have skills in developing and maintaining practice policies and protocols for all practice activity.

To work collaboratively with the whole Practice team ensuring that the service delivered to the Practice population is relevant, responsive, of the highest standard and is effective and efficient.

Job responsibilities

  • Be an experienced manager/leader of staff, providing leadership to the reception team.
  • Have excellent service, leadership, communication and project management skills.
  • Be suitably proficient with IT systems and software applications, preferably in a clinical setting (although training will be provided for the suitable candidate).
  • Hold a relevant management qualification.
  • Exhibit safe, professional decision-making and high level of care for patients within the Practice.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider Practice team to meet the needs of our diverse range of patients.
  • Support the delivery of required policy and procedures.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths
  • Management and Leadership Qualification

Experience

Essential

  • Experience in supervising/managing staff
  • Experience of working with the general public
  • Experience in inducting, training and supporting new members of staff
  • Experience in undertaking staff appraisals, managing mandatory training, performance management and implementing organisational change.

Desirable

  • Experience of working in a health care setting
