additional PA subject to annual job plan review for flexibility and acuity

The successful candidate will be part of the out of
hours on-call consultant rota (1 in 15) and paid at 3% on call supplement

recruiting for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join the Psychiatry Intensive Care
Unit (PICU) based at Fieldhead Hospital, Ouchthorpe Lane, Wakefield. This role plays a vital part in ensuring our
patients receive the care that they need and will be an integral role within
the Wakefield Acute Care Pathway. Walton
PICU Ward is a 14-bed adult psychiatry intensive care unit (PICU) based at the
Unity Centre , Fieldhead Hospital in Wakefield.

high quality care. The team comprises of

Qualifications
Essential
- MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.
Desirable
- Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research or management.
- MRCPsych.
- Additional clinical qualifications
Experience
Essential
- Excellent knowledge in specialty.
- Excellent clinical skills using bio-psycho-social perspective and wide medical knowledge.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to work in and lead team.
- Demonstrate commitment to shared leadership and collaborative working to deliver improvement.
- Participated in continuous professional development.
- Participated in research or service evaluation.
- Able to lead Case-Based Discussion Groups.
Desirable
- Wide range of specialist and sub-specialist experience relevant to post within NHS or comparable service.
- Able to plan and deliver undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and training relevant to this post.
- Evidence of achievement in education, research, audit and service improvement: awards, prizes, presentations and publications.
- Has led clinical audits leading to service change or improved outcomes to patients.
- Has cared for close family / friend with mental health needs.
Eligibility
Essential
- Fully registered with the GMC and have a licence to practise or be in a position to have a licence to practice on commencement in the post.
- Included on the GMC Specialist Register for General Psychiatry, or within six months of gaining CCT.
- Approved or eligible clinician status.
- Approved or eligible under S12.
Desirable
- In good standing with GMC with respect to warning and conditions on practice.
