Job summary

The post holder will plan and facilitate the delivery of training and mentoring to all grades of staff and support individual staff with their development as necessary. To do this, they will ensure their own competency by maintaining the necessary standards defined by the Trust.

This role will include acting as the first point of contact for candidates undertaking educational programmes being delivered; escalating any concerns to the Clinical Education Lead responsible for the programme being delivered.

Please note this a part time - days will be discussed during the interview process.

Main duties of the job

In this role you will:

  • To deliver Education programme as directed (this may include scheduled courses or ad-hoc delivery).
  • To act as the first point of contact for students and undertaking the educational programme being delivered.
  • To escalate any concerns to the Clinical Education Lead responsible for the programme being delivered and/or Senior Education Manager.
  • To contribute towards standardisation and quality assurance of educational programmes as required.
  • To ensure that all of the logistical functions required for course delivery are in place.
  • Provide group and one to one support, encouragement, assessment and coaching as required.
  • To provide detailed feedback on students regarding their course to all stakeholders.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure that all logistical aspects required for course delivery are in place.

Job responsibilities

Deliver Education and work with students to identify training needs, and facilitate them in drawing up and implementing action plans to encourage positive progress and address any areas of concern. Carry out assessments (both in the classroom and in operational environments) for students as required. Ensure all assessments are evidence based and that feedback is provided to stakeholders including students / apprentices.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • A minimum of three GCSE's or 'O' Level qualification, Grade C and above or the equivalent qualification including GNVQ, NVQ level 2.

Qualifications

  • Holds or working towards Level 3 Award in Education and Training

Desirable

  • Hold a level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (or equivalent).

Qualifications

  • Mentorship/coaching qualification, DSE assessment assessor, Fire marshal or be prepared to complete.

Knowledge

Essential

  • Good understanding of the ambulance service and Education Environment.

Desirable

  • Experience of delivering clinical training programmes. Experience of demonstrating management competencies in practice.
  • Experience of working across departments in an influential way.

Skills

Essential

  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to promote ideas to others, including the ability to persuade and influence.
  • Excellent planning skills to ensure coverage of training, mentorship, employee reviews and other key events or meetings.
  • Good level of computer skills, able to comfortably utilise standard office applications, web browsers and similar.
  • Competent at using Microsoft Excel including formulae to produce reports.
  • Excellent communication and listening skills.
  • Ability to multi task and prioritise existing workloads using a methodical and systematic approach to work.
  • Working knowledge of Health & Safety, inclusivity and diversity at work.
  • Ability to work within a new and developing role and take on new responsibilities, where there are opportunities for development and progression, which may be challenging due to uncertainties.
  • Organised, innovative, supportive and decisive.
