Job summary
This is an excellent opportunity to join our state of the art ultrasound department at this busy Trust. Carrying out over 100,000 Obstetric and Non Obstetric Ultrasound examinations a year, we are looking for a highly motivated and hardworking trained sonographer to join our friendly team. The ultrasound service is a dynamic and evolving department which offers a high quality service to patients and service users.
HCPC registration or equivalent, together with a Post Graduate Diploma or equivalent in Medical Ultrasound is essential, together with obstetric, gynaecological and general abdominal scanning. Experience in muskulo skeletal and vascular, small parts and paediatric ultrasound would be desirable
This role requires excellent communication skills and a proactive attitude, with the ability to work autonomously, within our supportive team.
Main duties of the job
- To work at an advanced level of practice providing a high quality ultrasound service with comprehensive independently written reports
- Communicate highly complex information regarding diagnosis/treatment directly with Clinicians and patients
- To independently prioritise patients and organise workload from a variety of referral pathways to meet the needs of the service
- Provide expert opinion/advice and contribute to the management of the Ultrasound Department
- To ensure the highest professional occupational standards are maintained at all times using a high level of specialist knowledge in line with local, regional and national guidelines where appropriate.

- DCR or BSc Diagnostic Radiography or BSc in a Biomedical Science
- Masters Level Post Graduate Diploma in Medical Ultrasound or equivalent qualification or relevant experience

- Developed IT skills (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
