The Post
The content of the Clinical Fellowship in the Medical Retinal Service will be split across a variety of clinics within the MR service at Moorfields Croydon. It will also include 1 cataract training theatre per week, all clinical sessions will be at the Moorfields Croydon site in South London.
Main duties of the job
Main responsibilities of this roleinclude:
- Working within the MR service at Moorfields Croydon site
- Undertake MR Administrative role
- Participation in regular clinical and research meetings
- Active participation in ongoing research projects
- Participation in departmental teaching activities

Job responsibilities
May vary, as outlined above, but will also include:
- 7 clinical sessions , 2 research / study / admin sessions and 1 cataract training theatre in a Monday to Friday working week.
- Attendance at regular MR Fellows Virtual Teaching Sessions (typically 6, 1-hour sessions per week, including Fluorescein Angiography Meeting, Electrophysiology Teaching, Uveitis Teaching and Clinical / Research Tutorials.

Education and Qualifications
Essential
- MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
- MRCOphth or equivalent.
- Full GMC Registration (with a Licence to Practice) or be eligible for GMC Registration.
Further Training and Knowledge
Essential
- Completion of Specialist Ophthalmology Training or Equivalent.
- Research Interest.
- Research into educational methods.
Desirable
- Completion of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) course in the last two years.
Skills and Ability
Essential
- Teaching skills & enthusiasm.
Experience
Essential
- Previous teaching and research experience and clinical experience in Medical Retina. Should be competent in doing independent intravitreal injections, and laser procedures (macular and pan-retinal photocoagulation).
- Previous experience of working on commercially sponsored clinical trials as a sub or co- investigator
