As one of our Ward Sisters/Charge Nurses you will support the Service
Lead, lead a team and manage the ward on a regular basis. The role is
responsible for maintaining continuity of care to patients within the hospice,
while at the same time providing leadership to staff and volunteers.
The successful post holder would work well with the Service Lead
and Sisters to support the effective running of the ward, ensuring good
communication and teamwork, and that the necessary support and supervision is
provided for all team members.
As one of our Sisters/Charge Nurses you will be supported by the
Service Lead and Head of Clinical Services while playing a key role in
delivering safe, quality patient-focused care to clients and drive forward the
highest standards of palliative care service provision. This post will appeal to an individual with
the ability to deliver in all aspects of clinical care and staff
management.
As a Sister/Charge Nurse you will be a clinical role model and
will need to have a willingness to develop the nursing team as well as working
towards your professional growth. The successful post holder will conduct
direct supervision and manage the daily service needs which includes planning
and management of staff rotas.

Health and Safety

Infection Control
Prevent spread of infection. Comply with policies and procedures for
correct disposal of waste, sharps and soiled linen.
Training
Managers are required to take
responsibility for their own and their staffs development. All employees have a duty to attend
mandatory training as required by the Hospice.

Vulnerable People (Children and Adults)
All employees have a
responsibility to protect and safeguard vulnerable people (children and
adults). They must be aware of child
and adult protection procedures and who to contact within the Hospice for
further advice. All employees are
required to attend safeguarding awareness training and to undertake
