We are looking for an experienced and confident Facilities
lead who will ensure compliance with the National Standards of Cleanliness 2021
within a challenging and ever-changing environment.
You will be responsible for the efficient, effective, high
quality Domestic service ensuring the cleanliness of the Trust is maintained
for the safety of our patients. You will also provide technical support to the
switchboard and portering coordinators.
The role requires a customer focused personality with an eye
for detail and a passion for high standards. Working closely with the IPC and
Monitoring Teams ensuring best practice is adhered. You will need strong
management people skills as you will be responsible for providing guidance and
advice to staff, maintaining budgets, training and ensuring the wellbeing of
the team.
Applicants should have good organisational skills, the
ability to motivate staff and have a proven ability to create effective working
relationships and build teams.
Main duties of the job
To provide support and assistance to the Facilities Manager
in delivering and maintaining a domestic cleaning service that achieves a
clean, safe and hygienic patient environment in line with Trust best practice,
policies, procedures and KPI's and the National Standards of Cleanliness 2021.
To manage facilities staff in line with Trust Policies and
procedures.
To provide leadership and support to the other facilities
staff including switchboard and portering, establishing and developing working
relationships and regular communications between ward and departmental managers
within the Trust.

Risk Assessment:
This role will involve frequent concentration including analysis, writing of reports, meetings, risk assessments and may include an unpredictable working pattern to ensure both proactive and reactive service provision.

Job Purpose:
As a member of the Facilities Management team the post holder will be required to provide leadership and support for duty managers, supervisors and staff to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of operational targets and drive further service improvements.
The delivery of objectives within the Facilities business plan.
Provide operational lead to modernise and motivate the workforce effectively in order to deliver business plans and support the organisation.
The professional advisor for Cleaning, Linen, and Switchboard Standards including associated service contracts within the Facilities Team.
Directly line manage Housekeeping, Laundry and Switchboard Services for patients, visitors and staff at the Alexandra Hospital and support Kidderminster Treatment Centre, ensureing that they are delivered in an efficient and effective manner.
- Budgetary responsibility: circa £5 million and responsible for planning and delivering CIP through productivity and efficiencies in a financially sustainable manner.
- Responsible for the management of direct line reports for all HR issues including appraisal, annual leave management, sickness management and disciplinary issues.
- Ensure robust procedures are in place to cover service requirements at all times during periods
of annual leave or sickness through the use of rotas etc. ensuring adequate provision of service at all times

Knowledge & skills
Essential
- Knowledge of current statutory requirements, standards and regulations for Housekeeping portering and transport services.
- Demonstrate innovation and new ways of working within Housekeeping & Laundry Services
- Competent written and verbal communication skills
- IT skills-MS Office including Excel and PowerPoint.
- Facilitation of small and larger staff groups
- Evidence of Continuous Personal Development
- Competent working under pressure and demonstrable experience of meeting deadlines.
- Ability to motivate and influence staff.

- Experience in NHS Facilities Management.
- BICs Trained or associated Healthcare Cleaning Qualification
