Main duties of the job

If you have a Critical Care background with a post registration qualification in Adult Intensive Care Nursing and would like to develop your career in critical care, then read on.

The post-holder will be a highly experienced, knowledgeable practitioner who provides leadership in practice development and education to the non-medical workforce. They will role model best, evidence-based professional practice. Clinical educational support for learners at the bedside will be a substantial part of this role.

Senior Clinical Educators will be able to: Act as an exemplary role model for best clinical practice and Trustvalues Work to an agreed job plan to maximise education delivery to supportstaff and patient safety/experience. Supervise and manage clinical educators to promote effective workingacross the education team. Use expert knowledge to actively promote and contribute to a positiveinter-professional learning environment Deliver education programmes at a divisional level and where requiredcross divisionally in support of organisational priorities. Work as part of the local and corporate practice development teams Manage and lead education teams Develop, implement, and evaluate education programmes Work as part of the local and corporate practice development teams Work with clinical management to anticipate and address theeducational needs of the service Work across boundaries to proactively develop and sustain partnership

These positions are based at the John Radcliffe and Churchill Hospitals based in Headington, Oxford. It is roughly three miles from the city centre, with exceptional public transport to and from the hospital as well as onsite parking. If you already live locally the hospital is easily commutable from towns such as Bicester, Didcot, Abingdon and Wantage If you live further afield and you are considering relocating for this position, the recruitment team will be happy to assist you with help and advice on relocating. In addition, we actively welcome applications from Nurses who are overseas. Oxford is well known for its university but aside from being drenched in academic history, its city centre has recently undergone redevelopment including a new shopping centre and a selection of new bars and restaurant.   • Registered Nurse (Part 1 of the register)
  • UK Health related recognised Degree, relevant to post
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development through maintenance of NMC revalidation
  • Appropriate period of post-registration acute nursing experience
  • Evidence of specialist knowledge appropriate to the clinical area or practice development and education
  • Evidence of experience and qualifications in supervising and assessing learners
  • Evidence of study at level 7
  • Having or working toward a post-graduate certificate in teaching
  • Familiar with and able to effectively use common office software suites (e.g. MS Office
  • Experience of coaching
  • Experience designing, delivering and evaluating programmes of education
  • Demonstrates the ability to put patients at the heart of what they do and meet differing needs by fostering a spirit of support, integrity, respect and teamwork
  • Shows pride in the quality of care they provide for patients and provides evidence of learning from both successes and setbacks
  • Able to identify high standards of health care and demonstrate the proven capacity to champion change and innovation that delivers these high standards
  • Evidences the ability to proactively support and develop colleagues in the delivery of care commensurate with Trust values and behaviours
