We have an exciting opportunity for a Lead GPto join ourteam atHMP Isle of Wighta category B male training prison.Located on a small island, HMP Isle of Wight is 8 minutes from St Marys Hospital and 26 minutes away from Cowes Ferry Terminal. At HMP Isle of Wightthere is a high level of long term condition patient needs and this role would suit a GP who is interested in end to end care as well as leading a team of 2 GP's and 2 ANP 'S. The site also has an 18 bed inpatient unit and the role would cover daily rounds on the wards.

Hours our core hours of operation are 07:30 -17:30 Salary This position is full time 40 hours a week and youll receive an annual salary up to £130,000 per annum depending on experience. Golden Hello £3,000 (£1,000 in 6 months of service, £1,000 after 12 months and £1,000 after 24 months of service - conditions apply). Main duties of the job

As a Lead General Practitioner, your responsibilities will vary. You will

  • Provide medical leadership and expert advice, regarding medical and primary care issues
  • Support other GPs and ANP's working in the service with peer review & clinical supervision
  • Oversee the induction of new GPs into the local site
  • Identify and utilise evidence based best practice through benchmarking and clinical guidelines
  • Ensure systems and processes in place for managing results, letters, tasks
  • Support the development of Local Operating Policies
  • Support the Head of Healthcare at Local Delivery Board meetings
  • Attend Clinical Forums
  • Reviewing CVs for potential new GPs and locum/agency GPs and support the recruitment of new GPs into the service

  • MBChB or MBBS
  • Inclusion on the GMC Register
  • RCGP 1 and 2
