Job summary

We are looking for a permanentBand 7 Senior Children's Occupational Therapisttojoin ourCommunity Childrens Therapy Team in West Essex,covering Uttlesford, Harlow and Epping Forest. This post will be based predominantly in the Epping Forest area.

You willjoin our award winning Essex Child and Family Wellbeing Service, where we are trail blazing a new integrated partnership model with Barnardos;a model that drives efficiencies so we can put more people in our services, spending time with children and families to improve health outcomes in the local community.

As a Senior Occupational Therapist, you willbe responsible for leading service provision in the Epping Forest area, at universal, targeted and specialist levels.

Youll be involved in supervision of colleagues and improving the delivery of services, whilst working closely with ourteam of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Therapy Assistants. Working ina diverse multidisciplinary team with other dedicated staff, you willbenefit from the support of friendly and inclusive colleagues, with access to regular supervision and team meetings.

Main duties of the job

You will carry a mixed complex caseload, of children aged 0-19 years, delivering specialist interventions across a range of areas.

You will work in settings including schools, community clinics/hubs, homes and special schools, providing a high standard of child centred service delivery, in line with best practice.

You will have specialist skills in the area of Autistic Spectrum Disorder, supporting service developmentin this area.

The Ideal Candidate
  • Qualified Occupational Therapist with HCPC registration
  • Minimum of 2 years paediatric experience, working with a range of conditions.
  • Beinnovative and adaptable,
  • Havea passion for improving the outcomes of children and young people within the local community.
  • Strong communication and organisation skills, and aflexible approach, youwill ensuredelivery of positive experiences to patients at every stage of theirhealthcare journey.

As this is a community role, it is essential that you hold a valid UK driving licence and have access to a car for work purposes.
