Main duties of the job
A Trust Senior Clinical Fellow in Paediatrics & Neonates (ST4+ level) is required by Barnet Hospital (Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust) commencing from September 2024 for a 1 year fixed term.
Previous experience in Paediatrics at registrar level in the NHS is essential.

Barnet Hospital is part of the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust and is a busy district general hospital in North London.
There are 17 paediatric consultants covering both Barnet Hospital & Chase Farm Hospitals. Currently there are 15 ST4+ level posts and 15 ST1-3 level posts based at Barnet Hospital.

Job responsibilities
There are regular teaching sessions, clinical presentations and journal club with a specific teaching programme aimed at ST4+ level junior doctors, as well as a wealth of clinical work to learn from in the acute and outpatient settings

Education & professional Qualifications
Essential
- MRCP part 1/ MRCPCH part 1 A & B or Equivalent
- MRCP/MRCPCH part 2 Clinical or Equivalent
- MBBS or Equivalent
- Appropriate GMC registration to be obtained by the designated start date
- BSc, BA or equivalent honours degree, MSc
- PALS / APLS / NALS
- Training in child protection
Experience
Essential
- Significant experience of working within a paediatric environment
- Experience of working in neonatal intensive care
- Experience of working in PICU
- Experience in RCPCH approved posts OR equivalent post-registration paediatric experience.
- Ability to run an Outpatient Clinic with Consultant supervision
Desirable
- Personal involvement in audit project
- Management / leadership experience
Skills and aptitudes
Essential
- Excellent oral and written communication skills - ability to communicate well with colleagues, children and families of patients.
- Ability to teach nursing and medical staff
- Medical management - able to supervise junior medical staff
- Able to establish and maintain working relations with patients, carers and multi-disciplinary colleagues
Desirable
- Computer Literacy/ IT Skills
