Job summary

A part-time fixed term or secondment opportunity is available in the Clinical Audit for Improvement Department as a Clinical Audit for Improvement Manager supporting EKHUFT with its delivery of National Audits and NICE Guidelines.The team are on an exciting improvement journey and can offer you a rewarding, flexible and supportive role providing a full range of clinical audit responsibilities in a large acute trust.

Main duties of the job

As one of two Clinical Audit for Improvement Managers in the team the role will provide general and specific expertise to national audit programmes such as for Stroke, including SSNAP data analysis, reporting and line management of administration staff. The post holder will also manage NICE Guidelines compliance and support the work for the Patient Safety Incident Response Framework (PSIRF).

Together with the Clinical Audit Management Team, the Clinical Audit for Improvement Manager will take responsibility for ensuring the delivery of aspects of the annual National clinical audit programme, through direct leadership and management of the SSNAP audit team.

The post holder will act as a focal point for problem solving, providing visible leadership, guiding and supporting the team to achieve the complex audit programme on time and to a high standard. Specifically, they will play a key role in facilitating the award-winning national stroke audit programme and analysing performance using the SSNAP webtool. They will line manage the Stroke Audit Clerks (x4 part-time) and be a link between the stroke audit leads, administrators, and the wider audit team, including the Clinical Audit Programme Lead.

As part of their role they will manage NICE guidelines implementation by scoping new guidance, cascading to clinicians, recording and reporting on implementation status and collating evidence of implementation. They will also provide data to inform PSIRF when required

Qualifications

Essential

  • oDegree in relevant business or clinical related area, or demonstrable equivalent extensive experience oKnowledge of specific data handling systems (e.g.SSNAP), both front end and back end oSpecialist knowledge of stroke pathways, national stroke improvement objectives and audit requirements oExtensive knowledge of clinical audit methods, and clinical and medical terminology
