Job summary

The Clinical Standards & Outcome Manager has a unique and varied role responsible for managing key elements of the regulatory agenda within HDFT.

The post would be part of a busy but dynamic team that encompasses all elements of quality and safety including PSIRF, Complaints, Claims, Coroners, Risk Manager, Compliance & Regulation, Patient Experience and Clinical Standards & Outcomes.

The post sits within the Clinical Standards & Outcomes arm of the Quality Team which encompasses care quality commission, NHS England and external agencies.

The post manages the Clinical Standards & Outcomes Officer.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will lead on: Developing policies; procedures; guidelines; infrastructures; systems; and processes which will ensure the organisation has a robust process in place for monitoring outcomes from clinical specialities, audit and mortality and morbidity.

All staff working within Quality Governance and Patient Safety have responsibility for developing, implementing and maintaining systems to assure the quality and safety of clinical work is undertaken in accordance with legislative and best practice requirements. They will have the ability to analyse and communicate complex data using a variety of different means i.e. verbal, written, presentation and enhanced communication skills The post holder will be expected to prioritise their workload, interpret the relevant policies and use their own initiative to achieve expected work tasks and outcomes, within agreed deadlines for regular data processing, internal and external reporting.
