Main duties of the job

The Operations Manager, will lead the team at Corby Urgent Care Centre to ensure that the service is safe, efficient and effective operationally, providing the best outcomes for the patients that use the service. They will have high standards and expectations to ensure that the team is delivering high quality care to patients and clients, creating an environment where this can flourish.

Corby Urgent Care Centre offers a high standard of unscheduled care from early morning to late evening for patients attending with a wide variety of undifferentiated conditions. The centre is staffed primarily by our team of experienced urgent care clinicians with additional support from other clinical and non-clinical members of staff. The team is made up of a mixed MDT including GP,s Advanced Practitioners, Nurses and Urgent Care Technicians. The team is also supported by the Non Clinical team. They all work together to create a positive and rewarding workplace environment for colleagues delivering a high-quality experience for patients.

Job responsibilities

The post holder will ensure the smooth running of the service on a day to day basis with support from the Clinical Operations Manager and other Service Leads. They will have a proven record of managing a team and a good understanding of finance and budget.

The Operations Manager is expected to harness a working environment which encourages team work, energy and creativity. To achieve this, they will have strong leadership and excellent problem-solving skills, along with good communication and interpersonal skills. They will work with key stakeholders and external partners to ensure that the quality of the service and care that the service provides, is of excellent standard.

Hours: 40 hours per week, 5 days over 7

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Lead the service, setting the example of what is expected from others at the service.
  • Provide quality leadership and support to the other key members of the team at the centre.
  • Aim for an outstanding and gold standard service by improving on what is in place and looking for new ways to develop the service.
  • Ensure that the service is operational at all times, delivering an effective, efficient and safe environment.

  • Good understanding of autonomous practice within an urgent care centre and the roles that deliver this
  • Ability to manage and prioritise workload.
  • Proven ability to work as part of a team.
  • Demonstrate enthusiasm and self-motivation
  • In-depth Knowledge of the CQC Key lines of Enquiry
