Full Time 37.5 hrs per week
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our small, friendly team at The Rotherham
NHS Foundation Trust. We are looking for two enthusiastic and motivated
individuals with excellent interpersonal skills to work as a Cardiographers for
the Cardiology Suite. This is a busy service providing specialist assessment
and support for people with known or suspected heart conditions. You will join
a focussed team providing support within the Cardiology Service.
You will be an integral member of the Cardiology team performing basic cardiac
investigations (such as 12 Lead Electrocardiograms (ECGs), Fitting &
Removal of Ambulatory ECG & BP Monitors).

Main duties of the job
To perform routine resting 12 Lead electrocardiograms (ECG)
to National Standard on all types of patients throughout the trust. To include
Wards, Accident and Emergency, Outpatient Department and the Cardiology Suite.
To fit and remove Ambulatory ECG and BP monitors,
ensuring departmental procedures followed.
To recognise normal and abnormal rhythms at a
basic level.
To recognise situations or test findings which
need bringing to the attention of senior colleagues/ Medical staff for clinical
interpretation.
To contribute to a high standard of care to
patients at all times.
To check the technical quality of ECG and
calibration of ECG equipment and to report any adverse findings to a senior
member of staff.
To assist in other areas of cardiology under
supervision as appropriate.
Maintain good working relationship with other
members of the multi-disciplinary team within the department and to be flexible
according to the needs of the service.
To work flexibly in accordance with the department
needs. This may involve changing working days and/or working towards a 7-day
service. Works in a range of clinical settings which may include a community
location in the future

Desirable
- ECG in practice and underpinning knowledge.

- Policies, practices and procedures e.g. NHS national policies, standards, requirements and directions that relate to measuring and improving the quality and safety of patient care
Qualifications
Essential
- Good standard of education to GSCE level, Including Maths and English.
Desirable
- NVQ level 2/ Apprenticeship level 2 in Health Care Science.
Experience

- Working in a healthcare environment with direct patient care.
- Experience of working in a busy multi-disciplinary team.
