This is your opportunity to join us on our journey and become a part of our talented and passionate Senior Nursing Team.

We are looking for a dynamic senior nurse who can multi-task, make high level decisions and demonstrate excellent people skills. Due to career progression an opportunity has arisen for this 12-month fixed term Band 8a Matron post within the BRHC. The role will include the oversight of the speciality inpatient areas (Daisy Ward and Penguin Ward) and management of Clinical Nurse Specialists, as well as link matron roles and becoming part of the duty matron rota. The successful candidate will have proven effective management and leadership skills and the ability to work under pressure.

There is a high level of autonomy whilst also working with the multidisciplinary teams and colleagues within the hospital and feeding into wider networks across the Southwest and beyond. The candidate will work closely with the surgical leadership team, the divisional management team and the divisional triumvirate.

The ideal candidate for the role will:

o Have significant experience in problem solving, using their initiative and providing a clear vision.o Have the ability to proactively lead and problem solve to resolution.o A prompt and clear decision maker.o Be an experienced communicator and work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team

Qualifications & Training

Essential

  • RGN.1st Level or relevant children's qualification or ODP
  • Current NMC or HCPC Registration
  • Qualifications and Professional Training Experience / Extended Knowledge in Paediatric Nursing Degree
  • Master's Degree or equivalent, or willingness to work towards
  • Route Cause Analysis & Clinical Governance

Desirable

  • Leadership/Management Course
  • IOSH (or similar) Course
