We are looking for a enthusiastic Uro-Oncology Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our Team.

You will act as an expert Uro-oncology Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) providing advice and clinical intervention to this patient group. Promoting a seamless service within a multi-professional framework leading on service quality improvement, redesign and development. This will be achieved through the core dimensions of the role, clinical practice, leadership, and acting as the patient advocate.
You will include the day-to-day management of the Uro-oncology patient case load, nurse led clinics, participation in ward based inpatient support, attendance at Uro-oncology MDT, collation and execution of management plans. Advanced skills in clinical assessment, symptom control and an in-depth knowledge of treatment modalities.

Main duties of the job
To act as a key worker for Uro-oncology patients providing a link to Multi-disciplinary team providing care for patients diagnosed with Uro-oncology cancers referred to MSEFT.
To provide specialist Uro-oncology cancer nursing undertaking specialist assessment of patients nursing needs, plan, implement and evaluate care delivery using expert clinical knowledge and clinical skills.
Co-ordinate and manage nurse-led clinics under the indirect supervision of the Urology and oncology Consultant team.
Be responsible for own caseload of patients, ensuring this reflects the core components of the Clinical Nurse Specialist role, which involves high level of clinical decision making, advance clinical practice and providing consultations for healthcare professionals.
Ensure good, accurate communication both verbally and via formal documentation of electronic sources with all members of the nursing, multidisciplinary team, patients and relatives.
Support patients and their families and ensure that they receive the required information to enable them to self-manage, lead or participate in their care delivery.
In partnership with lead clinicians, deliver health education and lifestyle advice, to empower patients and their carers to make informed choices about their health and wellbeing and increase concordance with suggested therapies and lifestyle changes.

Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential
- Registered General Nurse- registered with NMC
- Post-registration qualification in Uro-oncology nursing, cancer/oncology/palliative care or long term conditions of Urology origin
- Post graduate qualification or equivalent experience at AfC band 7 or above
Desirable
- Master's Degree or evidence working towards, in relevant area
- Prescribing Advanced Nurse practitioner Advanced Communications Skills Training Leadership/ Teaching qualification (ENB 998)
- Clinical assessment & consultation accredited course SACT Passport
Experience
Essential
- Post graduate qualification or equivalent experience at AfC band 7 or above
- Experience of complex case management in diagnostics, long term conditions/cancer
Desirable
- Proven leadership and management experience/qualification
