The advertised post is for a highly motivated, specialist Cardiologist, Radiologist, and/or Nuclear Medicine Physician specialising in Nuclear Cardiology.

The post will be appointed to the Nuclear Medicine Department, Clinical Services Division (CSD), Barts Health NHS Trust and will be based at the Barts Heart Centre, St. Bartholomew's Hospital. The post will have a commitment to the Nuclear Cardiology service, supporting the Cardiac Centre based at St Bartholomew's Hospital, providing cardiovascular care to a population of six million people. The aim of this post is to provide support for Nuclear Cardiology across Barts NHS Trust within the framework of Barts Heart Centre and aim for excellence in clinical standards.

The successful applicant will join the Nuclear Medicine team at Barts Health, providing myocardial perfusion, LV systolic function, amyloid and inflammatory/infection PET-CT and SPECT-CT imaging.

The appointee will work a 6 PA job plan.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate professional excellence and the ability to deliver effective care. The successful candidate will be required to adhere to the Trust's policy on Maintaining Medical Excellence and to be committed to maintaining their standard of performance by keeping their knowledge and skills up to date.

Main duties of the job

Continuing responsibility for the imaging care of patients in their charge, including all administrative duties associated with patient care.

Leadership, development and organisation of the services in their charge in line with the Nuclear Medicine Department's business plans and vision. Liaison and communication with the Nuclear Medicine Clinical Lead, Lead Nuclear Cardiology, Head of Nuclear Medicine Department and the Clinical Services Division Directorate.

With the agreement of the Clinical Lead, Nuclear Cardiology lead clinician, Head of Department and CSD, development of his/her own interests and sub-specialties within the specialty, in line with business planning principles and Commissioners 'approval, including active participation in research programmes.

Corporate and individual responsibility for the professional management of doctors in training.

The job plan is anticipated to contain 6 Programmed Activities per week, approximately 5 PAs (direct clinical care) per week, and 1 SPA (supporting) when averaged through the year.

This is an outline programs, and the post holder will be expected to discuss and agree a detailed job plan including personal and professional objectives with Dr T Hussain (Clinical

Lead) within 3 months of their start date.

The post-holder should have experience in Clinical Cardiology, Radiology and/or Nuclear Medicine. They should be accredited or otherwise credentialled and have a sub-specialty interest in Nuclear Cardiology.

Rubidium PET CT imaging, DPD scintigraphy and FDG PET for infection and myocarditis occurs at St. Bartholomews Hospital. Nuclear Medicine is a networked service across all 4
