A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Consultant with expertise in Neuroimaging to join our Radiology team at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust. The post holder will need to have expertise in Neuroimaging and they will provide Acute Neuroimaging cover and participate in the Neuro on-call rota.

Our Clinical Radiology team provides imaging for the diagnosis and interventional treatment of a large range of conditions and performs nearly 400,000 examinations a year. Our Imaging team are committed to the provision of state-of-the-art imaging technologies and constantly evolving techniques.

The primary duty of this post will be to provide specialist diagnostic neuroimaging MRI and CT angiography cover, participate in the neuroimaging on call rota and general support within the department including reporting sessions and participation in MDTs. The successful candidate will work with other consultant neuroradiologists to provide acute neuroradiology MRI duty cover and acute CT angography for stroke.

Main duties of the job

Main Aims and Objectives of the Post include:

  • Providing Radiology services to patients in Coventry, Rugby and the surrounding districts.
  • To work with the existing Radiologists to deliver the department's activity. This will include ensuring that all appropriate waiting lists and waiting times are adhered to, that services are provided in an effective and efficient manner and that the principles of risk management and clinical governance are maintained at all times.
  • To support multi-disciplinary team meetings.
  • To develop an academic and research interest (individuals with specific specialist skills are welcome to add those to the Trust's imaging scope).
