Are you a strong team player, an excellent communicator who is adaptable, committed, organized and able to work under pressure. Then this job is for you.

We are looking for a Band 5 Occupational Therapist (OT), preferably with some community experience to join our Community Therapy team.

You will have the opportunity to work within strong and supportive multi-disciplinary teams utilising your developing assessment and clinical reasoning skills. You will have the opportunity to take part in regular supervision, joint working and expert, evidence based in house training. Participation on weekend Rota is to be also required.

Main duties of the job

To be responsible for providing a professional OT service and carrying an agreed caseload under the supervision of Specialist Community OT.

To deliver a complex package of high-quality healthcare including assessment, treatment, and advice to patients with various needs in a variety of settings.

To provide OT assessment and treatment to patients within disciplinary format.

To deliver a OT service to patients within a variety of settings, requiring flexibility/adaptability in recognising the complexity of these environments.

You are expected to cover planned and urgent occupational therapy assessment and treatment as well as supporting Home first, discharge to assess pathway and rapid response.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Dip COT/BSc/BSc(Hons)/MSc OT
  • Registered as an OT with the Health professional Council

Desirable

  • Further qualifications relevant to the role
  • Non-medical prescribing course

Experience

Essential

  • Assessment and care planning
  • Working with a multi-disciplinary team
  • Experience within a range of patient/client care groups

Desirable

  • Evidence of innovative and flexible approach to care and the organisation of care
  • Community experience

  • Access to a vehicle that can be used for business purposes and hold a full and valid driving licence.
