Specialist Cardiac Physiologist Band 6

The main duties of the successful candidate will be to perform non-invasive Cardiology diagnostic procedures, perform Ambulatory ECG analysis, work in the Cath lab for Angio/ PCI procedures. Training to work towards British Society of Echocardiography or British Heart Rhythm Society Accreditation if not already held.

Main duties of the job

Applications are invited for a highly motivated individual to join the Cardiology team as a B6 Specialist Cardiac Physiologist working at both Croydon University Hospital and Purley War Memorial which are part of Croydon Health Services NHS Trust. This is a very busy and demanding role and the successful candidate should have previous experience of working in a Cardiology department.

Person Specification

Education and Qualifications

Essential

  • BSc Clinical Physiology (Cardiology) or equivalent
  • RCCP Registration or eligibility to register
  • Immediate or Advanced Life Support

Desirable

  • Post Graduate professional related membership or qualifications e.g. BSE or BHRS accreditation
  • Management Diploma
  • Recognised teaching/ assessing qualification

Knowledge and Understanding

Essential

  • Sound knowledge of the clinical background to specialist and highly specialist diagnostic and therapeutic non-invasive and invasive procedures in Cardiology.

Experience

Essential

  • BSc Clinical Physiology (Cardiology) or equivalent completed with wide ranging clinical postgraduate experience
  • Broad experience and competence maintained in all routine non-invasive procedures
  • Experience of working as part of a multidisciplinary team

Desirable

  • Highly specialist training in a minimum of one discipline with evidence of maintenance and development of that skill
  • Significant experience working in the field of Cardiology
  • Experience of Cardiology patient database Philips CVIS and imaging archiving system ISCV and electronic patient record Cerner Millennium
