We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic Salaried GP to compliment our existing team.
This post is to work 4 sessions per week, ideally on a Wednesday and Thursday, however this is negotiable.

Main duties of the job
The main duties of the Salaried GP include:-
- supporting the GP partners in providing such services as outlined in the GMS Contract and any National Directed or Local Enhanced services agreed between the practice and NHS England, Kent & Medway Integrated Care Board or any successor body
- Carry out consultations and where appropriate, physical examinations for the purposes of identifying and reducing the risk of illness, disease or injury, including immediately necessary and temporary patients
- In accordance with the agreed Job Plan, the post-holder will make him/herself available to undertake a variety of duties including surgery consultations, telephone consultations & queries, eConsults, home visits, checking and signing prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion
- Give advice to patients on general health matters and in particular about the significance of risk activities
- Arrange for the referral of patients, as appropriate
- To give due regard to the Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF) and contribute to achieving maximum points in all areas
- to maintain and keep good standards of clinical records at all times and to work within the practice policy for prescribing.
- To carry out a review of medication prescribing
About us
Thames Avenue Surgery is a forward thinking practice located in an affluent area of the Medway Towns, with excellent transport links to both London and the ports of Folkestone/Dover. Situated in a residental road close to the town centre, we are a small but very busy practice with an approximate list size of 5,900.
We use EMIS Web, Docman 10 and DXS clinical systems and use quality improvement software such as AccuRX, Apex and Ardens.
Thames Avenue Surgery have successfully maintained high QOF scores year after year, received a 'Good' rating in June 2023 CQC inspection and have excellent patient satisfaction reviews, which are shared with the surgery team on a monthly basis.

Job responsibilities
Primary Key Responsibilities:-
- The delivery of highly effective medical care to the entitled population
- The provision of services commensurate with the GMS contract
- Generic prescribing adhering to local and national guidance
- Processing of administration in a timely manner, including referrals, repeat prescription requests and other associated administrative tasks
- Maintain accurate clinical records in conjection with good practice, policy and guidance
- Work collaboratively, accepting an equal share of the practice workload
- Adhere to best practice recommeded through clinical guidelines and the audit process
- Contribute to the successful implementation of continuous improvement and quality initiatives within the practice
- Attend and contribute effectively to practice meetings as required
- Contribute effectively to the development and maintenance of the practice including clinical governance and training
- Ensure compliance with the appraisal/revalidation process
- Commit to self-learning and instill an ethos of continuing professional development across the practice team
- Support the partners in achieving the strategic aims of the practice, making recommendations to enhance income and reduce expenditure
- Review and always adhere to practice protocols and policies
- Encourage collaborative working, liaising with all staff (including PCN staff) regularly, always promoting a culture of continuous improvement.

Experience
Essential
- Experience of working in Primary Care;
- Experience of continued professional development;
- Experience of QOF and Clinical Audit;
- General understanding of the GMS Contract
Desirable
- Minimum of two years as a Salaried GP
Qualifications

- Full registration with GMC;
- MRCGP Qualification;
- Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT);
- National Peformers List registration;
- Appropriate medical defence indemnity;
- Eligibility to practice in the UK independently
Desirable
- Experience of medicines management/ICB initiatives;
- EMIS Web user skills
