Locum Consultant Radiologist: Interventional Radiology

LNWUH NHS Trust is looking for two Locum Consultants in Interventional Radiology. The wider radiology team comprises 60 consultants, three staff grade doctors and 23 registrars working collaboratively across the three sites to provide high quality imaging service.
The successful candidate will contribute to the broad spectrum of work undertaken by our consultant radiologists as detailed in the job description.
The posts are based at Northwick Park, Central Middlesex and Ealing Hospitals. Post-holders will be expected to cover activities on multiple sites, as required. Commitments are outlined in the job description but will include relevant MDTs, imaging-guided procedures, plain radiograph, CT and MRI reporting.
Main duties of the job
General responsibilities will include acute, elective and on call work. Teaching and training are actively encouraged. There will be an on-call commitment which will include weekend working. Opportunities for teaching and management are ample.

Qualifications
Essential
- FRCR (or overseas equivalent)
- Recognised Medical Degree
Desirable
- MRCP MRCS or other similar diploma
Registration
Essential
- On GMC registered Medical Practitioner GMC specialist registration or within 6 months of CCT or CESR
Knowledge & Expertise
Essential
- Broad based general professional training in general medicine
- Comprehensive training and experience in general imaging
- Experience in IR including imaging guided procedures
Desirable
- NHS experience within the last 3 years
- Fellowship or advanced training / accreditation in interventional radiology.
- Subspecialty interest within diagnostic radiology
Teaching
Essential
- Experience of teaching and training undergraduates, postgraduates and junior medical staff
Desirable
- Evidence of ongoing interest and achievement in research
- Training accreditation
Management and Audit
Essential
- A broad understanding of the management role of a consultant and mechanisms
- Knowledge of finance/budgets
Desirable
- Evidence of clinical audit and quality improvement.
- Experience of radiology service development, process mapping or business case evaluation.
Research/ publications
Essential
- Proven ability to carry out and present research projects
- Presentations at National meetings
Desirable
- Ability to organise research and work within research governance procedures
