Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity at the Royal Free Hospital to recruit a Band 6 Physiotherapist to become a part of our Rapid in Emergency and Acute Medicine Therapy Team (REAM).

The successful candidate is required to be able to demonstrate the Trust Values and the responsibilities of the job description and person specification. The individual applying for this position should have experience and skills in transdisciplinary working, be flexible and be able to work in the fast paced areas of the Emergency Department and the Adult and Medical Assessment units.

Main duties of the job

We are seeking an enthusiastic and passionate Physiotherapist who is keen to develop their specialist clinical knowledge and management skills. The successful candidate should be forward thinking and pro-active with excellent organisational and clinical skills within the fast paced Emergency Department setting, to facilitate admission avoidance and safe discharges. Good communication skills and the ability to make autonomous decisions under pressure are also required. The successful applicant will be required to work 37.5 hours a week with an extended hour service covering 8am-6pm. The role may include weekend working and further extended hours in the future.

The Therapies team at the Royal Free are truly inter-disciplinary with a strong emphasis on supportive supervision, an active learning environment and a focus on staff welfare and teamwork using the "What matters to you?" framework. We have a varied and comprehensive programme of therapy in-service training and our Therapies Education Team have recently expanded to further support access to ongoing education, courses and CPD. We are also well supported by our Therapies Research and Development Team and we currently are engaged in several formal external research projects, which includes opportunities for additional research training at Band 6 level.
