Job summary
To contribute to the provision of health care to the children in Bridgend by providing high quality, efficient and effective speech and language therapy services, within available resources and in accordance with the Registration Code of HCPC. To work under the direction of senior clinicians to ensure provision of high quality services.
To provide assessment, diagnosis, treatment and advice for children and young people referred to the Service. The post involves giving support and advice to carers, early years practitioners, teachers and other members of the multidisciplinary team, including Social Services and Education Authority.
This post is externally funded through a Service Level Agreement with Bridgend Flying Start for at least until March 31st 2025, but is a permanent position in Cwm Taf University Health Board paediatric team.
Main duties of the job
We are delighted to offer this temporary full-time band 5 paediatric Speech and Language Therapist post to an enthusiastic therapist who is passionate about changing children's futures by supporting their communication development in Early Years.
You will join the the children's SLT speech and language therapy team and you will work in flying start provisions, children's homes and bases, providing assessment, diagnosis and support to children with a range of speech , language and communication difficulties using a variety of service delivery modes including telehealth. You will work collaboratively with others who are proximal to the child such as family, setting staff, education staff and other health professionals.We are looking for a therapist who works well as part of a team with excellent communication skills and enjoys working collaboratively with others. You will demonstrate the Health Board values of listening, learning and improving, treating everyone with respect and always working together as one team.
Cwm Taf Morgannwg SLT department are a friendly and compassionate team who place a strong commitment to supporting staff well-being, supervision and continued professional development. We have regular staff development workshops, good administrative support and technical assistant support.
