As a Critical Care Nurse, you will be integral to supporting the journey of a patient as they recover, at a crucial time for patients and their families; a position which is both exceptionally rewarding and humbling.

Main duties of the job

What youll be responsible for:

You will treat patients with critical illnesses from all specialties, medical and surgical, as well as giving post-operative support for planned, major surgery. This care will include:

Assessing and monitoring patient conditions

Checking symptoms and vital signs and arranging diagnostic tests

Recognising, responding to, and managing emergency situations

Planning, delivering and evaluating standards of evidence-based nursing care

The role will involve, but not be limited to you performing the above.

You will need to have the following qualifications/experience:

A minimum of 6 months paid experience in a Critical Care nursing environment within a hospital in the last 3 years

Comply with NMC Professional Registration and keep up to date with current nursing practices

The ability to ensure accurate records are kept in accordance with CHS policy and NMC guidelines

Be committed to undertaking regular mandatory training

*Depending on the Trust, you may require variable additional certification and skills.
