Job summary
An opportunity has arisen for a fully qualified Practice Nurse to join our friendly team at Walton Medical Centre. We are looking for a highly motivated, fully experienced Practice Nurse to join us in delivering the highest standards of care for our patient population of just over 7000 patients. This is a part time position working 25 hours per week, currently over 3 days.
Main duties of the job
The appointee will be expected to carry out all duties expected of a Practice Nurse, including cervical smears, chronic disease reviews, vaccinations & immunisations. We would like the applicant to also act as a mentor to our Trainee Nurse Associate and Health Care Assistant with full support from our 6 GP Partners.

The ideal candidate will have experience in Primary Care with a focus on delivery of the highest quality care to our patients.
The key skills and experience should include Cervical Cytology, Childhood Immunisations, management of Long Term Conditions, Travel advicevaccines and cervical cytology is essential. A good understanding of QOF in General Practice is required.

Qualifications
Essential
- Fully qualified registered Practice Nurse adhering to standards expected by the NMC.
- Experience of working in Primary Care.
- Experience of Chronic Disease Management.
- Experience of working autonomously.
- Experience of working as a Practice Nurse.
- Experience of Infection prevention and control measures.
- Experience of managing elderly and housebound patients.
Desirable
- Mentor qualification.
- Post graduate degree or diploma (Chronic Disease Management)
- Family planning qualification
