Job summary

This post is available from August 2024 for one year. The duties of the post meet the requirements of the CT3 Equivalent (Stage 1 'top up') posts as detailed by the Royal College of Anaesthetists. The 2021 RCoA Anaesthetics curriculum will be followed. The duties will include pre, per and post-operative management of surgical patients, assisting with care of the patients on the ICU, and provision of assistance with resuscitation calls.

This post will offer training opportunities as per the Royal College of Anaesthetists training guidance and applicants who successfully complete the year will be awarded a stage 1 evidence certificate.

Person Specification

Experience & Qualifications

Essential

  • Basic medical degree
  • Completed at least two years postgraduate training at CT1 and CT2 level in a relevant training programme.
  • Full GMC Registration with a licence to practice
  • Advanced Life Support Certificate from the Resuscitation Council UK or equivalent
  • Completion of Initial Assessment of competence (IAC) and Initial Assessment of Competence for Obstetric Anaesthesia (IACOA)

Clinical Skills & Experience

  • Possesses range of clinical knowledge, skills and information technology expertise.
  • Understanding of clinical risk management
